The Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man Vincent Ehizojie for allegedly conspiring with other staff members to kill Abimbola Olusola the owner of the Etashol Hotel and Suites, and the manager, Tunji Omikunle, in the Ojodu area of the state.
It was reported that the CCTV footage in the toilet of the hotel revealed the killers of mrs Olusola, who had return from London less than a year ago to oversee the affairs of the hotel, and Omikunle.
couple of weeks ago some workers were reportedly sacked for defrauding the hotel, it was reported that a gang consisting of the sacked workers and some workers working in the hotel allegedly killed the manager by strangling him to death.
On Monday, the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, during a press briefing, announced the arrest of Ehizojie, who was said to be one of the five suspects who committed the crime.
Imohimi said, “Ehizojie and two other staff members named Henry Lolo and Okechi Ezi, conspired with two contract employees, simply identified as Dubai and Dangote, to rob the Hotel owner of her money, added that they did so with the belief that they had no future in the hotel.
He stated that the suspects laced the food with a sleep-inducing stimulant, which was served to other staff members, who were not part of their plan.
Ehizojie, a principal suspect, who was arrested in Port Harcourt, where he had gone to take refuge after the act, all the conspirators agreed that they had no future in the company, because they believed that the deceased was miserly. They, therefore, agreed that she must be robbed of her hard-earned local and foreign currencies, being a London returnee.
Imohimi added that the suspect so far arrested would be charged to court for murder, while efforts were on to arrest others still at large.
