Benue APC Criticize PDP for the attack on their Supporters

The All Progressives Congress in Benue State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party of sponsoring an attack by hoodlums against its supporters at Gbamjiba, in the Guma Local Government Area of the state.

The Secretary of the Emmanuel Jime Governorship Campaign Team, Prof. Eugene Aliegba, told the journalists in Makurdi on Friday, that several persons were injured while some others went missing during the attack.

Aliegba said that the armed men overthrow the security operatives who were deployed to the area.

“The chairman of the APC had informed us on Thursday night that he was directed not to hold a rally in Gbamjiba and this is the country home of the sitting governor. This information was passed to the police,” he said.

A member of House of Representatives, representing Makurdi/Guma constituency, Dickson Takhir, alleged that he had received information on Thursday that armed men were mobilised from Makurdi with the sum of N4.5m to disrupt the rally.

But the Chairman of the PDP in the state, John Ngbede, said that he had yet to receive information about the attack.

Ngbede said, “What I heard was that the APC candidate went to the area with thugs.
